Chestnuts' Custom: Colt America

Chestnuts' Custom: Repaints are Copouts
Colt America

For Sale

Colt America, my second pony avenger. Five point stars are pretty hard to paint, let alone sculpt but in the end I'm happy with how the two stars on him turned out. I was originally planning to make the shield removable but I sacked that in the end for two reasons, first it left a big hole in his leg, which would have had to be pretty big to account for extra thickness once both parts were varnished and second, once varnished if the shield was left in for, I'd give it about a week it'd be pretty much stuck in and if you did pull it out, I reckon you'd get varnish and paint stuck to the wrong bits so I figured it was best stuck in as I didn't want him without his shield!

A ponified alien from Attack the Block! I was working on the Viking when I got the idea to make furry bits out of clay by roughing the clay up with a spike, it worked on the Viking's gaiters, so I decided to apply it to the whole body of a pony when I watched Attack the Block and had the idea to ponify one of the aliens! My camera hasn't been especially kind here, the fur is pretty difficult to photograph.. D:

Chestnuts' Custom: MandoPony

Chestnuts' Custom: Repaints are Copouts
MandoPony

For Sale

Wow this guy took me ages, the guitar et al was done pretty quick in all fairness, it just took me ages to settle on a colour I liked, as his body colour is extremely difficult to mix up with Tamiya's range.. or at least it was for me anyway.. I'm happy with this colour though it's not exactly his colour, still I'm pleased with the little guitar and the cutie mark guitar too, so it's not all bad! :)

Chestnuts' Custom: T-P0N1

Chestnuts' Custom: Come with me if you want to live..
T-P0N1 (The Termarenator)

For Sale

I'm so doing a Schwarzenegger custom on the next stallion I get! This was so much fun to make, the detail is beyond anything I've done before, including Xenopony. The robot side of the face was mostly experimental, from the colours on her hair where it's been singed, to the damaged skin around the robotic bit..

She's definately going in my cabinet near the front as one of my best makes to date..

Chestnuts' Custom: Slendermare

Chestnut's Custom: Repaints are Copouts
Slendermare

For Sale

Fillies beware the slender mare.. I'm sorry if your Slendy has tentacles, you can call me Colin for giving her them but my Slendy just doesn't have tentacles. His colour is also, different. It was entirely unintentional, something funny happened with a light grey wash I was using over the white and the brush dispersed these tiny flicks of black.. I kinda like 'em. :D

Chestnuts' Custom: Grownup Scootaloo

Chestnuts' Custom: Repaints are Copouts
Grownup Scootaloo

Sold

Once upon a time, I made a post on my thread on UK of Equestria saying I'm make the next pony suggested and someone replied that I should make a grownup version of Scootaloo. This obviously posed the problem of what to do about the cutie mark, at first I thought about covering it with the scooter on some kind of strap but that would have only covered one side and the helmet would have been too big to make hang on the other side, so I decided originally to do the G3.5 cutie mark (were they called that then?) and that was going to be that, anyway in a dramatic twist of fate UK of Equestria's FlakeTwist came along, offered to buy it and suggested his own preference on the cutie mark, which was a wheel from her scooter.. makes a lot more sense on G4 Scoots, the purple butterfly didn't really fit.

DJ Booth for Wooden Toaster

The other day BuckingBrony contacted me via deviantART with a view to buying my Wooden Toaster custom. When I sent him Mic and Tombstone we discussed making a little set of decks for them, as he now owns Mic, Tombstone and Wooden Toaster I figured I'd make him a set of decks and some Marshall amps for them. Now I think about it I reckon Mic, Tomb and Toaster are gonna end up fighting as there's only one set of decks! D:

Chestnuts' Custom: Chinkapin

Chestnuts' Custom: Repaints are Copouts
Chinkapin

Not for Sale

Last blindbag custom I'm gonna start (I still have grownup Scootaloo, MandoPony and Spooky Applejack to finish) as I'm moving on to G3 brushables for a while and I'm low on baits..

Chinkapin is Chestnuts Pony's little sister, what she lacks of his swag and confidence she more than makes up for in intellect and drive.. :D

Her eye colour is virtually the same colour as her body, I dipped less paint than usual on the brush and smeared it to make it look like the eyes have that lighter tone to them.. tried to anyway!

Chestnuts' Custom: The Iron Stallion

Chestnuts' Custom: Repaints are Copouts
The Iron Stallion

My favourite custom so far, he has a tiny cut glass crystal in his chest for the Iron Man heart. :D his armour detail was put in place and carved out in several sittings.

Again I don't have a pic of a glitter pony but he was made from one. I use acetone to remove the glitter as it's a lot quicker than nail varnish remover, though more expensive and a lot more harsh on your little ponies..

Chestnuts Cutom: Derpy Hooves the Fourth

Figured that sounds much better than simply Derpy Hooves IV. So this is a Derpy on a Rarity mould, personally I think the pose looks more inquisitive and I think that suits Derpy..

Spidermare, Sidermare!
She goes where nopony dares!
Spins a web, eats some hay,
In the nick of time she'll save the day!
Look out! Here comes the Spider mare!

I'd originally whittled this one down to become a Shadowbolt, however when making my Kiriban; Cupid Strikes I used milliput to smooth over the head completely, pleased with how it turned out, the thought occurred to me that a smoothed over pony could be used to make a Spiderman custom.

Getting into superheroes is a can of worms though, I'm gonna roll out a sorta thing, based on concepts and stuff.. that's intentionally vague, watch this space!

Chestnuts Custom: Colonel Thunderlane

Chestnuts' Custom: Repaints are Copouts
Colonel Thunderlane

"It wasn't me, it was Blossomforth!" I love Hurricane Fluttershy, not least because of Colonel Thunderlane, I'd been wanting to make him for a lawwng time. His mane hopefully doesn't look as bad as it first did, that was a new method for me over bulking the milliput and just shaving the excess off with my trusty scalpel when it was cured, in the end I think it worked and I'm very pleased with this little custom. :)

Chestnuts Custom: Wet Mane Rarity

Chestnuts' Custom: Wet Manes are Magic
Rarity

For Sale
minus feed

So here is my take on "wet mane" Rarity, at the end of the episode where she and Sweetie Belle fight and end up realising that sister are like apple pies.. I bet Celestia was confused by that letter.. anyway, I'm pleased with how she came out, particularly her cutie mark which is very tiny and detailed but also her eyes, Rarity has the most detail on her eyes and with a make like this it's really the eyes that make or break it..

Little Customs: The Seven Wonderbolts

Got a bit artsy earlier and took some pics of the current Wonderbolt lineup.

As far as I know, from left to right they are;

Picture 1
Firestreak, Fleetfoot, Surprise, Soarin, Spitfire, Misty, High Winds

Pictures 2 ~ 6
Surprise, Firestreak, Fleetfoot, High Winds, Misty, Spitfire, Soarin.

Surprise is my seventh Wonderbolt, for this one I used gun metal on the goggles instead of the usual black, which I think looks much better.. I also pinned her tail using solder by heating up a compass spike and making a hole in it's backside, like how I did Chrysalis' legs only then stick your solder in and superglue it so it's got enough strength to survive you sculpting milliput around it.. :D

Third in my 'Musical Bronies' themed string. Wooden Toaster or Glaze. I really like how the mane came out, I wasn't sure when I started this make how I was gonna do the mane and it took a few goes to get it right. I love her colours too, really stands out in my collection.. :D

Chestnuts' Custom: Cherry Jubilee

Chestnuts' Custom: Repaints are Copouts
Cherry Jubilee

For Sale

Cherry Jubilee, this has easily been my most drawn-out make ever.. unless I finish that dragon. Overall very happy with how she turned out, a little of her paint on her back hooves has lifted with the varnish, but it's touching the floor so I'm not going risk compromising it to correct that.
